Bachelor of Fine Arts
in Digital Media (B.F.A.)

Overview:

Be a cut above the rest.

Earn your B.F.A. in Digital Media degree and add a mark of distinction to your resume.

Today’s professional designer must be computer and digital-media savvy as well as cross disciplinary.  Today’s Digital Designer must be able to integrate various media disciplines as well as understand the psychology and impact of design on the way other people think and perceive things.  Additionally, today’s successful designer must be a master of multiple medias, such as: graphic, page layout, audio, video, animation, 3D and web.

The BFA in Digital Media program provides an opportunity for today’s design students to polish and expand their design skills and portfolio while preparing for the “real world” of independent or corporate design life.  Students will have an opportunity to APPLY their basic and developed skills to “real world” projects and clients and by doing so, become better prepared to join the ranks of the Professional Digital Designer.

Admission Requirements:

  • All undergraduate admission requirements per this catalog.

  • A short 200+ word essay: “Why earning my BFA in Digital Media is an important part of my life goals.”

  • Computer/Software requirement.  Since this is a visual communications degree program with emphasis on theory and digital design skills, it is required that each student has appropriate digital design software and a computer on which that software will run and to be able to output – usually in color – the projects that are assigned.  (For specific details and software options, inquire with admissions or the Department Chair.)  Additionally, since the creation of a CD or DVD is commonplace today – for portfolios or to output projects - student must have that gear and software as well.
